Pouch slings are designed to fit snug, so it's important to have the correct size:
| sling size | shoulder to hip measurement | body type |
|---|---|---|
| xs | 21"-22" | petite |
| s | 23"-24" | thin |
| m | 24"-25" | average |
| l | 26"-27" | tall or full-figured |
| xl | 28"-29" | very tall or plus-sized |
*Generally, most people wear the same size sling as their shirt size.
How to measure yourself to ensure a great fit:
Stand up straight and hold a soft measuring tape with one end at the top outside edge of your shoulder. Measure diagonally across your chest down to your hip. Feel for the top of your hipbone where you bend sideways. This measurement indicates your sling size.
If you are pregnant; measure this same way across your back starting at your shoulder and ending at the side of your hipbone.
*If you do not have a soft measuring tape: you may measure yourself with a piece of string, and then measure the string length against a regular measuring tape.
Sizing help
A snug pouch sling is a correctly sized sling. When worn the bottom of the sling should rest close to your navel. If you are between sizes use this chart to help determine your correct sling size:
| consider the smaller size | consider the larger size |
|---|---|
| if you are thin, have a short torso or narrow shoulders | if you are heavy-set |
| if you are shorter (less than 5'4") | if you are tall & full-figured (over 6'0") |
| you carry your weight around your hips | you carry your weight around your middle |
| your baby is over 6 months old (only held in positions with legs out) |
Do not order a larger size just because you have an older baby, as babies 6 months & older will be held in positions with their legs out of the sling.
Your Gorgeousbaby sling will fit your baby as they grow. A newborn is held with their entire body cradled in the sling. At about 3 months old, they will be held in positions with their head out of the sling. At about 5 months old, they will be held with their legs out of the sling. This allows the same sling to fit your baby from infancy through to toddlerhood.
